White Space

Moving into a bare apartment offers many opportunities- such as trying to find ways to occupy the empty walls.  Coming from a home where my mother literally covered the walls in various decorations, family photos, and craft fair finds- finding myself surrounded by bareness naturally feels... not-home-like.

So in attempts to make my new place feel more homey- ideas of cheap decorating ideas that wouldn't damage the walls and that are also pretty easy to make- started to come to mind.  The winning idea of this round was... tissue paper flowers.  I remember making them to make my "bridal bouquet"when I would play dress up with my neighbors when I was a young whippersnapper.  To my delight they have offered an easy, colorful, and affordable way to fill some empty space.

If you're curious as to how to make these there is a nice tutorial on the blog The Color Issue:  Flower Poufs.

Before the Flowers

& After.

Hopefully soon I will have thought of some more ways to decorate these walls of mine- because there's a lot of white space to work with.

Have a marvelous Wednesday
& take care
Jade
